The glory of hiking in the Adirondacks is that in the course of a day, you may reach a destination that offers wilderness solitude or views of unbroken forest, lakes and mountains. And by evening, you can be dining in a fine restaurant, later to be tucked into a comfortable bed.

The Adirondack Park is a patchwork of private and public lands, unlike any other park in the United States. So while the backcountry inventory is immense - the nation's largest trail system at more than 2,000 miles - so too, are the nearby comforts.

Adirondack Hiking Maps
This site features an interactive hiking map with descriptions of many less-traveled Adirondack hikes. The interactive hiking map does not include all the hikes in the Adirondacks. It should be used to help you decide where to take your next hike and to find nearby accommodations. The online hiking map is not meant to be used for navigation. Visit our list of Hiking Books & Maps for detailed navigation maps.
